AGC Charities Operation Opening Doors
Current Efforts | Past Projects
Operation Opening Doors is a national program of AGC Charities, Inc., designed to provide home remodeling services to those suffering from disabilities incurred through service to our country or unforeseen disasters.
Operation Opening Doors leverages the support and expertise of AGC Chapters, members and partners, along with local communities, to help those in need achieve the highest possible level of independence and comfort in their daily lives.
From installing a wheelchair ramp and widening doorways to retrofitting an entire home for handicap accessibility, Operation Opening Doors plays an important role in helping the disabled and their families regain the quality of life they had before.
Get Involved
Operation Opening Doors is a volunteer-run program supported by AGC Charities, AGC chapters and contributions from individuals and organizations. Those interested in supporting Operation Opening Doors may participate in three ways: financial contribution, material contribution, or time and energy. Financial contributions are fully tax-deductible. Contact Nahee Rosso at 703.837.5348 or nahee.rosso@agc.org to discuss the best way you can get involved.
Current Project
AGC Charities, United Rentals, Roger B, Kennedy Construction and Duffey Southeast are teaming up this year to support Give Kids the World, a Kissimmee-based charity that provides children with critical illnesses and their families free, weeklong, cost-free vacations to Orlando and its theme parts. On Monday, March 23, we will travel to the Give Kids the World village to make improvements to a number of the residential structures at the facility, including installing new front porch screens and updating paint jobs. This is a fun collaborative project. Just make sure to wear closed-toed shoes, long pants and dress for the weather. Expect several hours of fun, collegial work. Learn more.
About Operation Opening Doors
Founded in 2007 by the AGC of South Dakota Building Chapter, Operation Opening Doors became a nationally supported program in 2008 under the direction of AGC Charities Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization tasked with carrying out the charitable activities of the Associated General Contractors of America. Working in conjunction with local AGC chapters, members and communities, Operation Opening Doors aims to support disabled service men and women, as well as those who have suffered disabilities from unforeseen disasters, by renovating their homes to make them handicap accessible and improve quality of life.
