Dignity Health, The Nest at St. Marks Preschool
The PENTA Building Group
Los Angeles, California
The PENTA Building Group, using its building experience and strong relations with local skilled trade partners, donated its expertise to a Los Angeles community in need. The previously licensed childcare space at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, which serves the Skid Row community, was long overdue for a remodel. The PENTA team managed the construction of the outside playground, including the earthwork, fencing, landscaping, installing a playground set, as well as rubber flooring installation. The new playground is now equipped to serve as a vital resource for the underprivileged toddlers and pre-school-aged children in the neighborhood and their families.

The Veterans House project required the students to prefabricate walls using a framing table and gantry system at the University’s field lab and then deliver the walls to the house site. In addition, the students added the floor system, trusses and roof system to complete the dry-in of the Veteran’s house.
